Work shelves, as well as headboards, float freely. You can center one on the bed or cover the wall with the floor to ceiling to display collections, hold books or store personal items. You can buy coordinated shelving “systems” that will look like built-in furniture or hang an eclectic collection of cabinets and shelves. Leave them as they are for a rustic look, or paint them all in the same color for a unified presentation.
