Sectional Sofa Slipcovers – Sectional sofas present special difficulties for fabrics to wear out. Finding a cover to fit these special sorted cushions is difficult, and many times owners turn to replace the entire sofa when replacing the covers also brings it back to life. If you have access to a sewing machine and some basic materials, create your own cover-size mattress for your sectional sofa and make it look new.
Remove the existing cover on the cushion by unzipping and pulling on the cover. Measure the cushion you want to cover carefully. Take measurements of each side of the pad and take note of these measurements. Place the fabric you want to use for the covers. Mark the measurements scored on the actual cushion in the fabric. Now mark 1/2 inch in addition to each measurement for a seam allowance. Place the pad over the fabric, then fold the fabric around the pad with the inside out so you can see the seam lines you have marked. Make sure that these measurements fit the cushion and align evenly.

Remove the cushion from the fabric once it is checked for adjustment and make the necessary measurement adjustments. Cut the fabric and the pin together with the right side in front of the other. Determine the location of the zipper in the seam. Sew the seams with the machine, using a tight stitch of high strength. Furniture needs to have solid stitching on the fabric since constant use is needed. Sew the zipper in place, with the zipper open and each half is sewn on the edges of the opposite top. Zip that closed on the cushion.
