Spanish furniture style houses have stucco exteriors, arched windows and porticos, tile roofs and wrought iron bars on balconies and stairs. The interior architecture is characterized by arched doors, plaster walls, tiled and wooden floors, and floor plans that extend the outdoor living space. Complement the interior of your Spanish-style home with rich colors, carved furniture and Spanish inspired accessories.

Remove the carpets from the hardwood floor and add in all the planking in a dark wood tone. Add tile floors to the kitchen and bathrooms, choosing porcelain in earth tones or ceramic tiles. Paint the walls in earth tones and add a faux finish to the walls. Choose a washed-out color finish, a false plaster finish or a satin finish.

Install sconces with wrought iron bases and decorative curtains in the corridors and near the entrances to the house. Candlesticks hang from the dining table and in the living room. Choose chandeliers with gold or black bases, preferably wrought iron. Avoid finished brass or nickel. Add wrought iron banisters to the stairs whenever possible. Install wrought iron wall art that reflects patterns similar to wrought iron railings or used throughout the home.
